He needed one number
The Last Number He Needed was 65
My husband and I went for a walk on the last day of 2023. It was a middle of the afternoon. I made us stop in a small convenience store. Here he was. His eyes glued to the Keno monitor. He was dancing around us. The store was small. I was completing my purchase when I heard him exclaim “Come on I need 65!” I looked behind me. Was I hearing it right? If felt surreal. So did his next sentence. “Oh My God, I got it!”
What?! “Come over here.”, he indicated the ticket checker. I moved closer to him. I wished I had my phone with me to take a picture. We waited for the number to show up. $1501 something. YIPPEE! I was happy for him.
He told me his story. People do. They feel safe with me. I feel what they need before they know they need it, or before they speak it.
He told me he was injured in March. His leg isn’t working well anymore so he cannot work. He was at home feeling really sad because his girlfriend was out of town. He might have been in middle 50s. He called his mom who told him to go out and do something. He had a jar of change some $40 dollars worth. He showed me what he had left. There was still a lot left. I was so happy for him. I loved being there for him for his joyful moment. I hope his health improves.
He showed me how he plays Keno. I loved this moment in time. I wished him well and we went on our way. A block away we met a lady that I started chatting with. I told her the story. She lit up herself. She too loved the story. I am not telling you this story because I like the moral of the story. Relying, hoping and wishing for a lottery win isn't inspiring way to live. There is a lot around money that isn't healthy, but that is another story. It is the energy he needs to generate to heal his mind and his body. Starting to attract what he wants by changing his mind set. I know that this focus on luck and winning is underestimating his innate powers to heal and to thrive. Regardless, the energy of being around a winner was joyful. I wish it was a different tool, but the feeling of getting it right was catchy.
Happy New Year!
